Everything about Cafe Navarre is five star quality. Every time my husband and I come, we thoroughly enjoy our meal, the service and the atmosphere. The mushroom soup is one of our favorites. It had been awhile since our last visit and they have updated their menu to be more Italian and Mediterranean, and we loved the new dishes. One of our favorite date night spots, especially for special occasions. We loved the Navarre group! Shoutout to our server Christian tonight too, he did an amazing job and made great recommendations.
Went to cafe navarre for my family Christmas Eve meal and I am so impressed. Not only was the food incredible but the server was the best I have ever had. He was so knowledgeable on wine and drinks and was friendly. Would ask for him if you go!
Best restaurant in South Bend hands down. We had St Elmo’s the night before and were hesitant to order steak 2 nights in a row. So glad we did because Cafe Navarre’s filet was better. The Zuppa Navarre and rigatone alla vodka sauce were incredible. The service was also great (thanks, Autumn!).
Absolutely wonderful. The staff was nice both food and dessert was amazing. We were celebrating our first anniversary and the staff as well as the manager made the experience very special. We also received beautiful wine glasses as a gift and a “ happy anniversary” card signed by the staff. Definitely plan on coming back.
Unbelievable. I rarely have service this good. Autumn was absolutely fantastic. I am in town just for the night. The night happens to be my birthday. My fiancé set up a reservation, noting my birthday. Table for 1: they didn't put me in the center of the restaurant, had a little birthday card at my table, my birthday dessert came WRAPPED in birthday paper with a candle. The food was exactly what everyone has said here. Fantastic presentation, smell, taste, and satisfaction for price point. I 100% recommend. Ask if you can get Autumn as your server. She is present but doesn't hover. Kind and genuine. She made my solo birthday perfect. Thank you, Cafe Navarre. I will return when I am back in town again.
It was a wonderful experience! Our server, Zane, was absolutely outstanding—friendly, attentive, and made the evening extra special. The attention to detail was impressive, with Notre Dame and Navy logos printed on the menus, which was such a perfect touch for the occasion. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and my filet mignon was cooked to absolute perfection!
If you go to Cafe Navarre, ask for Autumn! She was one of the most attentive and sweetest waitresses we’ve had in a long time. Great service like that is hard to find these days, but you’ll definitely get it here. Also, kudos to the pastry chef — incredibly talented! The flourless chocolate cake was divine. We’ll absolutely be back!
We had an amazing experience tonight at Cafe Navarre celebrating Thanksgiving a weekend early with my mom. My wife, son and I were visiting from Portland, Oregon and we had such exceptional service - thank you Luke 😊 - and a memorable night out. We highly recommend the atmosphere, the food and the ambiance if you are looking for a place to celebrate a special occasion or just a night out. This was the best meal I’ve had in South Bend in 20 years. Seriously. There is something for everyone on their incredible menu - from the food to the mocktails. We ordered shrimp and meatballs for appetizers, and a Navarre salad, along with a fillet, risotto, and salmon for entrees. And we ended the night with a crème brûlée and an “apple pie” dessert. Wow. The entire meal tasted so well and each dish had so much flavor. Simply put, this is a must visit in South Bend and we will definitely be coming back again on our next visit back to see my Mom.
Visited this awesome spot with my hubby, baby, and mother in law. Food was excellent! I enjoyed the branzino. My mother in law thought it looked like a piece of art on a plate with the cream and ash mixture. Do NOT skip dessert the cinnamon swirl cake was Divine!!! MIL usually orders crème brûlée and she was actually sad she did this time because the swirl cake was so phenomenal. The staff is excellent and didn’t disappoint! MIL has a walker and it was a little difficult opening doors and getting through but she didn’t have any other issues. The bread was great with the sea salt butter, and the zuppa and French onion soup were both wonderful! We also had a mocktail- can’t remember the name but it was recommended by the awesome waiter.
We had an excellent time celebrating our date the new year with café Navarre. The food was just excellent and the service was incredible. Our waiter, Christian D really took very good care of us. Our favorite of the night was the smoked salmon dip. Just super delicious. And we enjoyed the short rib Ragu and the whole Bronzino. The sauces were to die for and great presentation. It's a beautiful vibe and was a very lovely dinner. We will definitely be back again. Thank you, Christian for making our night so special!
